Brought to you by Ian of Sourdough Delivered. A simple combination of natural yeasts, flour, and water… sourdough is the base of every foodie’s dining desires. These crusty, tangy loaves are gluten friendly and freeze well, and are delicious toasted! Handmade in a family kitchen and baked to order, you are guaranteed the freshly baked loaf that your tastebuds crave. All of their loaves are handmade and naturally leavened in their micro-bakery in Fourways using their 5 year old starter from Port Alfred. They use Champagne Valley unbleached, stoneground flour, fine sea salt, water, and time. Their process starts 36 hours before when they mix their starter. 12 hours later they mix their dough to provide a 12 hour warm, bulk ferment followed by a 12 hour cold ferment to allow the different flavours to fully develop. Their Sourdough is made fresh, sliced and packaged every day to ensure the freshest product is always available. Serving suggestion: it freezes well so you can grab a piece for toast in the mornings to start your day.
