HELLO, I'M MARY-ROSE
I was born in Johannesburg and raised in the Northern Tuli Reserve, Botswana, where my love of nature began. I was educated in the Western Cape where I chose to pursue Psychology and Environmental Science. My heart lead me to a tiny farming community in KZN, where I worked in HR and Education, and furthered my studies for 5 years. A fascination with the source of our food grew from there. When the time came to move back to Johannesburg where I was born, I worked and studied in the field of Human Capital and Behavioural Finance for another 5 years. I married my lovely husband and had two perfect children. Mom life gave me the opportunity to build a business around my passion for slow, purposeful living. This grew into Truffle Pig Pantry: a community-lead platform for local artisans, founded in February 2022. Our aim is to empower local creators whilst giving you, the consumer, direct contact with the origins of your food and goods.
