These Rise + Revive greeting cards started when Nicole Wood, a graphic designer from a small town in Mpumalanga, wanted to create art that matters; designing something that was ethical, and sustainable and that represented her roots in Africa. She’s always had a love for how greeting cards could be used to encourage, uplift and inspire others. The combination of this thought, and the idea of creating something that was eco-friendly, is where Rise + Revive’s seeded, recycled, greeting cards were born; Greeting cards that come to life… your words come to life! With the love for design and communication came the idea to create the cards with a visual inspiration from rock art; the origin of visual design & communication. This ties in to the love of Africa; the natural raw beauty that the cards texture brings out, as well as the bright colour prints that speak to the vibrancy and beauty of the people and cultures of Africa. The design of the Big 5 on the cards is to tie more deeply to Africa and the nature that abounds.
